Dr. Andorno obtained a first doctoral degree in law from the University of Buenos Aires (1991) and a second doctoral degree in law from the University of Paris XII (1994), both on topics related to the ethical and legal aspects of medically assisted reproduction. Between 1994 and 1998 he taught Civil Law at the University of Buenos Aires. During 1999 he was a Visiting Scholar at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Laval University, Canada. Thereafter he was Humboldt Foundation Fellow at the University of Göttingen, Germany (2001-2002), Visiting Professor of Bioethics at the same University (2003), and Research Fellow at the University of Tübingen, Germany (2004-2005). From 1998 to 2005 he served as a member of the UNESCO International Bioethics Committee. He is currently Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Biomedical Ethics of the University of Zurich, Switzerland.
