Dr. Carol R. Findell is clinical associate professor emerita of mathematics education at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. She received a B.A. and M.S.T. from the University of New Hampshire, and Ed.D. from Boston University. For more than 30 years Dr. Findell served as a mathematics educator at the preschool through college levels. She also served as editor of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics publication Student Math Notes and on the editorial board of the New England Mathematics Journal. She was a member and chairman of the Question Writing Team for the Mathcounts Competition and was head of the writing team for the Figure This! National campaign to promote mathematics education reform.
Dr. Findell was a consultant, teacher, and/or curriculum developer for two WGBH Annenberg Professional Development series: Learning Math and Teaching Math. She has participated in several funded projects in mathematics education, and has worked with elementary, middle, and high school teachers from New England to California. Dr. Findell is the recipient of two Balomenos awards for mathematics education and a member of the Massachusetts Mathematics Educators Hall of Fame. She is the author or coauthor of numerous mathematics textbooks.
