Ray Dobbs is a graduate of East Tennessee State University with a BBA degree in Business Management. He was enrolled in the U.S. Army's R.O.T.C. program where he was awarded an academic scholarship. He graduated as a distinguished military graduate in the top 10% of his R.O.T.C. class and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, Regular Army. He served four years on active duty and was part of the United States Rapid Deployment Force (18th Airborne Corps).
In regard to his book, he has attended more than 2000 country music concerts during the last 12 years. During that same time, he has met hundreds of country music stars backstage and at country music events throughout the United States. It should be noted that he is not country music insider nor does he have any affiliation with the country music business.
According to the author, "I never intended to write a book on how to see and meet the country music stars. That all changed when fans continually asked me at concerts how I had met so many country music stars. This became obvious to them after looking through my concert photo album. I've been amazed at the response to my book. It continues to be my goal that everyone who reads it will have a memorable country music experience whether it involves getting front row, attending Fan Fair, getting backstage, or all the above!"
When asked about who his favorite group is, his response is somewhat surprising. He grins and says, "ABBA! The 70s and 80s pop group from Sweden. I know they're not country, but they are my favorite singers of all time!"
He also continues his favorite hobby which is concert photography. He says, "I am very proud of my country music photography which is why I included some of my best photos in this edition. I hope my readers enjoy them as well."
Today, the author resides near Nashville, Tennessee.
