Justino Cornejo

Escritor y educador nacido en Puebloviejo, provincia de Los Ríos, el 9 de agosto de 1904, hijo de don Alberto V. Cornejo y de doña Ninfa Vizcaíno Viteri.

Sus primeras enseñanzas las recibió en su lugar natal, en la Escuela Municipal Miguel S. Seminario, donde en 1917 concluyó la primaria. Dos años más tarde obtuvo una beca de S/.20,oo mensuales para estudiar en el Normal «Juan Montalvo» de Quito, donde se graduó en 1924.

Inició entonces una brillante pero sacrificada carrera en el magisterio como profesor de la Escuela Superior Tiburcio Macías de la ciudad de Portoviejo, y tres años más tarde fue Director fundador de la Escuela de Comercio «Manta Mercantil
».
