Maia Kinney-Petrucha

Maia Kinney-Petrucha is a writer, researcher, performer, and drama educator. She received her M.S. in Cognitive Neuroscience at the CUNY Graduate Center in 2023, where she researched the role of uncertainty in fear learning. She specializes in immersive and devised entertainment, with an emphasis children's theater. Maia splits her time between Amherst, MA, and New York City, teaching theatrical storytelling to youth, working in product & project management, and creating digital content centered on neuroscience-informed mental health education. Her undergraduate work at Hampshire College focused on the science and usage of pretend play in health. An OCD advocate, she details her experience growing up with the disorder through a comedic lens in her theater and film work.
