Elizabeth Vandiver (b. 1956) is a noted professor of classics at Whitman College in Washington. Her works include Heroes in Herodotus, and she has recorded numerous lectures on the classics for The Teaching Company. Vandiver received her undergraduate education from Shimer College, a Great Books school where she enrolled at age 16 through the early entrance program, and her doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin.
