An extended poem detailing the story of a man who sold his soul to the Devil. The poem doesn't have a definitive structure and is disorganized. It is seen as a parallel to Goethe's Faust. Some of Bailey's later works, including The Angel World, and The Mystic weren't as successful as Festus and were subsequently integrated into the continuing versions of Festus.
