An edition of The Bones Of The Homeless (2007)

The Bones Of The Homeless

This book will touch your heart and soul in a very deep and powerful way,
educational, searching and so needed in a me-me society!

The poetry is urgent, lively, and sometimes haunting- appearing alongside stark black and white photos of Jones' homeless subjects. Jones takes on the plight of the homeless in different voices, echoing the thoughts of people on the streets, unfeeling passersby, and compassionate observers. Terry Messman, editor of Street Spirit, writes: "Her poems speak directly to the souls of the readers and appeal to our hearts for a rebirth of compassion, justice, and love towards the poorest of our brothers and sisters." "Often I have published a 'Judy Jones Homeless Poem' on the front page of my newspaper."
Not to be missed!

Book Details

First Sentence

"The book is dedicated to Mother Teresa. Judy Jones volunteered around the world at Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charities; learning to 'walk the talk' and give until it hurts to the poor! Also the book is dedicated to Terry Messman; editor of the Street Spririt Newspaper in Berkeley, CA and Meria Heller; 'The Mouth that Roars!' and most importantly it is dedicated to our brothers and sisters who have died on cold concrete streets alone; taken to the city morgues; and labeled; 'NoNames'.. But their voices are being heard as each of us finds within our own families we too have someone that has experienced homelessness in some way..We are all effected and we are all connected through our hearts, souls, bodies minds and spirits!"
