Signed and dated: Elisha Thomas. Dover Prison, June 3, 1788.
Text in three columns with a relief cut of a hanging at head. Followed by an untitled poem in sixteen stanzas, also printed in three columns, described as "thoughts [which] were taken from Mr. Elisha Thomas, not long before his execution ... as to his past life and conduct." First line: Ye gazing crouds [sic] that gather round my woe.
Although included in Ford, W.C. Broadsides, other printed accounts of Thomas' life and execution include or have been supplied with a Portsmouth, N.H., imprint. Cf. Evans 21545, Bristol B6818, and Winslow. American broadside verse, New Haven, 1930, p. 108-109.
