Stefan Kassondros hated Ionides Damaskinos as only a Greek can hate a man who has deeply wronged him, and in Alice Sheldon he saw his instrument of vengeance. The worst thing he could do to his rival was to steal his woman – and return her when he had done with her; and so he kidnapped Alice and bore her off to his lonely island home to carry out his revenge. But it was not Alice who was to blame, but her flighty, selfish sister Alberta, who had persuaded the gentle Alice to take her place. How could Alice convince Stefan, before it was too late, that she was only an innocent pawn in the game?

Work Description

"When I have finished with you, sweet icy girl," Stefan said grimly,
"Damoskinos will have the anguish of knowing that you have
endured the ultimate at my hands!"

Alice Sheldon was trapped on a lonely island in the Aegean,
kidnapped by a man intent on avenging the murder of his fiancee.
Haunted by the ghost of a tragic love, he meant to make Alice his
instrument of revenge.

How could she convince him that Damoskinos didn't even know of
her existence?
