The author then claims that this supreme revelation can come only through a personal act of self-commitment with a vastly renewed and more fervent faith. This book, based upon the 1940 Taylor Lectures at Yale, is a living creed of religious conviction, meant to inspire ministers, students, and laymen toward more vital Christian living.
