Edition Notes
Nearly all the original poems here given as Fletcher's (p. 129-259) were reprinted in an edition of John Cleveland's poems published by the same bookseller in 1659, and have appeared in many subsequent editions under his name. In the Poems of John Cleveland, annotated and correctly printed for the first time by J.M. Berdan, 1903, they are rejected as spurious. cf. p. 249-250; also Grolier club, Catalogue of early editions of English writers from Wither to Prior, v. 2, p. 29; v. 1, p. 152-155.
