This is the unauthorized edition which was ensured in the prefatory note of the authorized edition, the maid's tragedy altered, 1690.

"The maid's tragedy" is only a fragment, probably intended by Waller to form a new act V, transforming Beaumont and Fletcher's tragedy into a comedy.
