Men are always fond of knowing who were their parents and ancestors, where they were born, and how they lived; what was the position of their parentage, their attainments, acquisitions and professions, or how and where they distinguished themselves...if if worldlings are desirous to know the deeds of their ancestors, how much more are we to enquire into the origin of beings and things around us, or how we came into existence?

The book says it is "A PHILOSOPHICAL-SCRIPTURAL TREATISE" ON GOD AND HIS WORKS. It attempts to give scientific reasons for the Creation story from the Bible; while also speaking of certain supernatural things which, the author confesses are beyond Man's understanding.
I pretty much agree to most of the things the author speaks of. The book is amazing apart from also being extremely useful in getting a perfect idea on the purpose of our very existence! :)

I believe that it gives the very purpose of the author to have written the book.
