Edition Notes

Chromolithographed t.p., and 95 leaves of plates printed by Day and Son.

Previously published by Day and Son in larger format in 1860. This "one guinea edition", was advertised for Dec. 1865. Contains all the text of the 1860 edition, with 95 rather than 99 numbered plates.

Plates are reduced in size from the 1860 edition.

MASS copy 1-2 : Bound in maroon sand-grain cloth blocked in gold and blind. Copy 2 with bookseller's label: S.& T. Gilbert.
