Edition Notes

"...first published in the USA by Atheneum in 1967 and in Great Britain by Victor Gollancz in 1968. This edition follows the text of the first edition, with minor emendations, and with the inclusion of a new introduction by the author which was first published by Ballantine Books in 2000" - t.p. verso. An extremely attractive and very well-presented edition, housed in a pictorial slipcase; blue jacquered cloth boards interwoven with Russian Imperial Eagle motif, matching blue along top edge of book, black leather label to spine with title in gilt, high quality laid paper.
