F4v has caption title, reading: A breue, or shorte monycion or counseyle of the cure and gouernaunce of a housholde, accordyng vnto policy. Taken out of a pystle of a greate lerned man, called Bernarde Syluestre, [et] put amonge the werkes of sai[n]t Bernarde, for bycause that many done iuge [et] thynke it was his owne werke. Set forth by the same brother.

The Bernardus portion is reprinted with minor alterations from STC 1967.5, a translation of: Bernard Silvestris. Epistola sa[n]cti Barnardi abbatis clareuallensis .. de bona gubernat[i]one familie.
