Bound in 1 v.

Weekly essays first published in the Universal chronicle, or, Weekly gazette, Apr. 15, 1758 to Apr. 5, 1760. Of the 103 numbers, twelve were contributed by friends; of these, no. 33, 93 and 96 were by Thomas Warton; no. 67 by Bennet Langton; no. 76, 79 and 82 by Sir Joshua Reynolds.

The plates, dated 1787, are engraved by James Heath after illustrations by E.F. Burney.
