One wood-engraved illustration within the text is signed "Dalziel". Others are unsigned.

With the same setting of type, wood-engraved illustrations and plates as used in an edition of this title published in [1870] by George Routledge and Sons. See McLean D 1217. MASS copy: Bound in blue fine diagonal rib-grain cloth blocked in gold and black. Upper cover blocked in gold with illustration replicated from the text. Spine with imprint: "Routledge". Boards with bevelled edges. With yellow glazed endpapers. With presentation inscription dated 1889. With bookplate: "Sidney Todd".
