Work Description
The book is an account of the first Indian circumnavigation in a sail boat undertaken by officers of the Indian Army Corps of Engineers during 1985-87. The account starts with the travails the crew faced in overcoming bureaucratic hurdles in getting Government sanction to undertake such a voyage, more so since the team comprised members of the Army. Their experiences in locating a 14-year old boat in the U.K. since funds did not permit purchase of a new one. Their training was hands-on which sailing the boat back to India to refurbish the boat before actually undertaking the voyage.
It is a roller coaster ride with the crew across the oceans and a gripping account of high adventure they went through.
