The names examined include "Ohio (River)," "Lake Michigan," "Wabash River," "Kankakee," "Kekionga, "Ouiatanon," and around a hundred others. Various names located outside the state but important to Indiana history are also discussed, including "(Lake) Erie," "Chicago," "Wisconsin," and "Scioto (River)".
