Edition Notes
Edmund Galley was tried at the Exeter assizes, July, 1836, for the murder of Jonathan May, and was found guilty. His sentence was commuted to one of transportation for life. He was pardoned in 1879 and, in 1881, was given compensation for his unjust conviction and punishment.
