This is the chronicle of the (ultimately successful) attempt to revenge-seduce a very unpleasant wealthy man, by a very unpleasant and not quite so wealthy young woman. The writing is witty and Dundy allows her heroine some very clever snipes at Mod Age society in London, but in the end it's difficult to care about what happens to these two people who really deserve each other.
I read this to try and understand why I disliked one of Dundy's other books that was enthusiastically reviewed by a book blogger I respect and admire. Bad choice.
