My own affairs

The life story of eldest daughter of Leopold II of Belgium by her own words. Eldest of 4 sibling. Married at age 16 to Phillip of Coburg. She related some of her experienced in the courts of Vienna. (her husband was close friend of Crown Prince Rudoplh, her younger sister, Stephanie husband) She wrote down her opinion of some courtiers & people she came across like Emperor Franz Joseph, Empress Elizabeth, Sophie Chotek ( Duchess of Hohenburg).

She had been told by Crown Prince Rudoplh of his relationship with Mary Vetsera. This is one of very few books that ever mention fate befell to Baroness Helene Vetsera after Meyerling tragedy. (Mary vetsera mother's) She saw Baroness by her own eyes. This book mentioning the Meyerling tragedy. After all she was confidante of Rudoplh & her husband was on his Imperial last entourage in Meyerling.

This book described her life from her childhood, marriage; birth of only son Leopold; birth of daughter, Princess Dora, death of son; her life in courts of Coburg & Vienna; about her sister Stephanie marriage to Crown Prince of Austria + Vetsera; her divorce, being declared mad; Imprisoned in madhouse, escape from madhouse, disinherited by her father till her old age years.
