Each article preceded by full paged engr. portrait.
Published in behalf of the Accademia degl' Incogniti, Venice, by the "segretario." A second volume announced in the preface as being in preparation, was apparently never published. The authorship has been ascribed by Tiraboschi, Foscarini and others to G.F. Loredano, founder of the academy; according to A. Belloni (Il seicento, p. 382) G. Brusoni may have been the author.
