Before I had a Mother;

A Calumet Childhood in Pieces

This is a bitter-sweet book about the author's childhood in Calumet, Michigan, where he was raised by his Polish grandparents. It is a very small book, very well written, and extremely funny in places, even thought the main subject is a lonely boy's childhood.
