"This edition of the 'Pervigilium Veneris' was printed letterpress by Russell Maret on Zerkall paper with handmade Nepalese wrappers. The text is set in a new type, Cancellaresca Milanese, which was designed specifically for the edition by Russell Maret. The type is based closely on one used by Giovanni Antonio Castiglioni in Milan in 1541. The printer is indebted to Martin Antonetti for sharing his enthusiasm for Castiglioni's work. The Latin text is copyright 1984 Alan Cameron. Used by permission. The English text is copyright 2009 Bruce Whiteman. One hundred copies were printed in the weeks immediately preceding May Day MMIX.
