Lucia Weston reproaches Deborah Weston for having taken one of the Ingoldsby books to New Bedford. Nevertheless, in "a spirit worthy of a Nonresistant," Lucia is sending them all. She is also sending Vulgar Boy, "which I think is a lovely take off of Wordsworth." Lucia describes the contents of a box sent by W. She is attending a sewing meeting at Mrs. Hanson's.
