Edition Notes

Holograph, signed with initials.

Anne Warren Weston declares that Deborah Weston is the best letter writer in the family. She asks Deborah if any of her present swains have serious designs. Anne does not think that she will come to Boston at the time of the [Latimer] trial, as her nerves could not stand it. "Is there no way of taking him out of jail beforehand." Anne thinks that will not do to have William Wetmore Story write for the the Liberty Bell, "for if his father [Joseph Story] gives the man [Latimer] up, I should immortalize him in the Liberty Bell in such a manner that it would not be filial to have his son's name in the book."
