Edition Notes

Holograph, signed with initials.

William Lloyd Garrison suspects that a letter he sent to Oliver Johnson may have been supressed. He praises Oliver Johnson's "farewell address to the readers of the Standard." He feels that Oliver Johnson has the right to resent the charges Wendell Phillips made against him and the National Anti-Slavery Standard. Garrison feels that Oliver Johnson has "nothing to regret, nothing to modify, nothing to recall, but much to be proud of." Garrison still has an address on the assassination of Lincoln to prepare and deliver in Providence.

Includes an envelope with the delivery address: Oliver Johnson, Esq., 90 East 12th Street, New York City, N.Y.
