Edition Notes
Holograph, signed.
Mrs. Mary Welsh refers to a box of goods sent for the Boston fair. She apologizes for some of the contents. Mrs. Mary Welsh writes: "We wish our Scotch friends would take a pattern from our English friends," who contribute liberally to "our box." She mentions Sarah Cogan in Malthamstow, Essex. Some of those in Scotland who are best qualified to work for a bazaar are prejudiced against Maria Weston Chapman's society "in consequence of the conduct of our time serving clergy." But even some of this class are giving way and have made beautiful contributions. Mrs. Mary Welsh sends her regards to John A. Collins.
