Bound volume consisting of: [1] a suite of 9 plates of column details captioned in Italian, engraved after a suite by Agostino Veneziano and provided by the Bibliothèque Nationale with the title Premières études -- [2] Præcipva aliqvot romanæ antiqvitatis ..., a reduced re-engraving after Hieronymus Cock's publication of the same title, issued in 25 plates of which the volume has 15 -- [3] a series of 12 Termes or Cariatides -- [4] Serrurerie, 21 plates of the locksmith's art of which the volume has 20 -- [5] Marqueterie (Geymüller) or Parquets (BN) 26 plates of decorative art, 25 here -- [6] Vues d'optique issued as 21 plates including the t.p., here represented by 23 engravings numbered in pencil, 19 of the 2nd state (slightly smaller-in-diameter) circular plates, 4 of the first state (nos. 8 and 20 are the same image in 2 states), and one larger plate of a nativity within a classical perspective, not part of the suite (Geymüller, p. 322).
Bound in vellum, ties cut(?) off, "catalogus v. Androuet" in ink on right upper corner, "suite(?) du Cerceau" and "Androuet" in ink on spine. "C. de Hoey 1652" inscribed on front endpaper.
