Incoming correspondence to George Engelmann from Joseph Duncan Putnam, for 1875-1878. The correspondence relates to an expedition to Colorado, meteorological observations, collections of fossils and study of geology; Mormons with whom he lived in Spring Lake, Utah. Work in Academy of Natural Science in Davenport, responsibility for the "Proceedings." Engelmann's visit to Davenport in 1878.
