Samuel May thanks Thomas Wentworth Higginson for replying to his previous letter, and addresses a few points Higginson left out. May says, while Higginson?s letter vindicates Wendell Phillips, it leaves certain things unanswered. He asks Wentworth to confirm that Phillips gave no pledge to Wentworth or anybody else at the courthouse, that Theodore Parker is not responsible for aiding the attack, and that there was a unanimous agreement in the sub-committee, of which Higginson was a part, not to attack the court house that night.
