First ed. of autobiographical romance dictated by Maximilian I and reworked by his secretary Marcus Treitz-Sauerwein, printed from two MSS in Austrian National Library.
Full-page plates printed from the original woodblocks by artists including Hans Burgkmair (110 of the 237), Leonhard Beck, Hans Springinklee and Hans Schäufelein. Thirteen blocks known from early proofs were missing. Final plate bears initials F.F. within the image and "F.F.S.V. 1775" outside border line at lower right.
Signatures: a-b² A⁶ B-4H² [4I1].
Errata, p. [308].
Binding: mottled sheepskin. Spine gilt tooled, author/title on label. Brown marbled on edges. Small ownership stamp at end of vol.
