A fine read about one of the last of the renown clipper ships, from the construction through her voyage around Cape Horn to Hawaii then San Francisco. What impressed me greatly was the author's creation, or re-creation, of the speech of the day amongst sailors. I rank this novel as equal with "Two years before the Mast" in vividly re-creating the life of the square-rigger sailor.
