The book should provide an overall insight on the state of the art, as well as complete information for the industrial engineer, scientific and university students. Even after more than 100 years since the invention of the spark ignition engine, research is still intensively undertaken in this field, and great progress has been achieved. In this book ca. 400 literature references from all over the world have been taken into consideraton.
