Excerpts

They Called Her Margaret Rose--THE LITTLE PRINCESS who was born in a four-poster bed at Glamis Castle in Scotland as a thunderstorm racked the skies on the night of August 21, 1930.

She was called Margaret after a Queen of Scotland; Rose for the House of York. Her father and mother were the Duke and Duchess of York, second son and daughter-in-law of the Sovereign, King George V, and she was the first royal baby to be born north of the English border since the birth of Charles I at Dunfermline in 1600.
