I have not found any reference to that being fact other than through google that Amazon linc.
There is much information, though which favor the belief that author Kay Lyttleton is, in truth, the pseudonym of Jean L. McKechnie, as are the many other names Jean has used, as noted in Jean L. McKechnie linc: https://www.worldcat.org/identities/lccn-n80-4123/

Work Description
The Jean Craig books are a series of five juvenile novels published from 1948 through 1950 by The World Publishing Company under their Falcon Books imprint. The bindings were paper-covered, cardboard hardcovers with a laminated coating. Aside from the simple cover illustration and illustrated end papers in early printings, the books were not illustrated, which was rather unusual for the times. In later printings, even the illustrated end papers were dropped, and the books were issued with plain, cream-colored end papers.
The main character, Jean Craig, is an earnest, fun-loving teenage girl growing up in a middle-class family in post World War II America. The books relate the struggles and the triumphs of Jean and her courageous, close-knit family.
A wholesome, uplifting series. The complete series includes the following titles, in chronological order: Jean Craig Grows Up, Jean Craig in New York, Jean Craig Finds Romance, Jean Craig Nurse, and Jean Craig Graduate Nurse.
