Lydie thinks she’s gotten over her feelings for her stepfather’s nephew Marius Benedict when he suddenly reappears in her life. The mystery of why he abruptly left years ago still is unsolved however. Her mother’s machinations though to make sure Lydie’s brother Jon inherits the Benedict business, and not Marius, continue.
