"Lee Cary came through the swirling dust and grit of a bitter sandstorm just in time to save Nan Page's life. Yet his chivalry might have been all for naught. Lee's grandfather, Jim Cary, is looking to expand his already impressive Smoke Tree Range, and he wants Nan's land--at any cost. For the first time in his life, Lee will have to take a stand against his own family--to rescue Nan, to do what's right, to become his own man"--Page 4 of cover.

Work Description

Arrogant old rancher Jim Cary was lord and master of the mighty Smoke Tree Range, with its fertile valleys and sandy desert. But the same could not be said of his headstrong grandson Lee. When Lee championed the cause of Nan Page and her younger brother to Ranchos Los Posos, one of the richest sections of all Smoke Tree holdings, the old man was secretly proud, but determined to bend Lee to his will. Nan Page was hardly a weakling, but she was alone in a strange land and she was hardly a match for the scheming, greedy man who would try to possess her land by any means. Without the aid of Lee Cary, she could never save the range she had inherited.
