Prepared originally by Raymond of Peñafort and promulgated in 1234 as church law by Gregory IX, the work became part of the pre-1918 Corpus juris canonici.
The glosses are those originally compiled by Bernardo Bottoni (d. 1266), with later accretions by Giovanni D'Andrea and others.
Title page and text printed in red and black; title within woodcut border; printer's device on t.p.; text printed in doubles columns, surrounded by marginal glosses.
Signatures: *¹⁰, a-z⁸, A-2⁸, 2K-2L⁶, 2M⁴, 2N-2O⁶, 2P⁴.
