The research, design and assembly of the present exhibition of Taino art took nearly 4 years in the making. Divided in 5 sections, the exhibition unfolds the transcendence of Pre-Hispanic art created without gold or perennial materials by the admirable Taino society, a Caribbean ethnic terribly decimated by the conquering enterprises that follow 1492 and whose fundamental cultural and artistic contributions were neglected or left to oblivion, mostly because of discriminatory reasons. The exhibition "Treasures of Taino Art" is the most recent project that has resulted from the collaboration agreement signed in 2005 between the Centro Cultural Eduardo León Jimenes and the Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno IVAM (Valencia, Spain).
