Mr. Babenco - Soliloquy for Two Without One is a memoir by filmmaker Hector Babenco (1946-2016). The work consists of conversations that he and actress Bárbara Paz, his wife, had at the end of Pixote's director's life - until the couple's last dinner. Caused by Barbara's questions, Babenco tells about his childhood in Argentina, the discovery of the first cancer, the backstage of his films. It is Barbara who organizes the book, punctuated by this intimate dialogue about the life and work of the filmmaker responsible for films such as The Kiss of the Spider Woman, Carandiru, The Past and My Hindu Friend, his last. The work also features unpublished poems written by Babenco in his youth - in Spanish and Portuguese - and some photographic records.
