Edition Notes
By Jane and Ann Taylor. Cf. C.D. Stewart, Taylors of Ongar, 1975, A4. Stewart describes a Munroe & Francis issue variant to the copy in hand in B1g.
Munroe & Francis began publishing at 128 Washington St., Boston, in 1824 or 1825. The address changes to Devonshire St. in the Boston directory for 1841. There is an 1824 4 Cornhill imprint.
Last page blank; pasted to printed stiff-paper cover.
Wood engraving on p. [71] signed by Abel Bowen. Stewart suggests that Shubael D. Childs or William Croome may also have contributed engravings.
"Munroe & Francis' juvenile library"--series title, lower cover.
