Edition Notes
759 hymns; doxologies numbered 760-766; an appendix containing hymns numbered 767-1004 and dismissions and doxologies numbered 1005-1024.
Prepared by a committee, with Dr. W.M. Reyolds as chairman, appointed by the General Synod of 1845, and first published in 1850. It is an enlarged revision of the hymn book of 1841 which was itself a revision of the edition published 1828, prepared by a committee appointed 1825 and headed by Dr. S.S. Schmucker.
The appendix which appeared in the 1841 ed. is here re-arranged and enlarged.
