A brief history of three Eppes children, great grandchildren of Thomas Jefferson that were born in Florida after their father Francis Wayles Eppes (Grandson of Thomas Jefferson) moved to Leon County in 1828 and their marriage to three Shine children, thus creating the Eppes-Shine family. The children of these unions called themselves "triple" first cousins. As such it is also a brief history of prominent early Florida settlers, including the relocation of the Eppes family from Tallahassee to Orlando post Civil War and the Shine family's migration to Florida from North Carolina.
