"On November 17, 2007, The Institute for Urban Design hosted a daylong symposium titled New York 2030, at the Great Hall of the Cooper Union in New York. The focus was Mayor Bloomberg's PlaNYC, a project to turn New York into the world's most sustainable metropolis by 2030"--Preface.

Part One: "The following notes were taken from a public discussion among representatives of Mayor Bloomberg's administration and a panel of urban design experts" - p.9. Part Two: "To flesh out the sustainable city proposed by PlaNYC, Institute Fellows and other experts were invited to share their visions for an urban future"--P. 31.
