Collection of 745 plates on 691 leaves from numerous small books and "cahiers" of ornament and decoration, no two sets alike, probably arranged for the buyer. Langlois had the title printed and Mariette later used the same title page.

Includes designs for interiors with details of panels, ceilings, clocks, ironwork, furniture, lighting, etc.; designs for exterior decoration include include extensive plans for gardens and details including grottoes, arches, gates, treillage, urns, etc. Cf. Guilmard for a similar but smaller work.

Architects and designers include Le Nôtre, Jean Le Pautre, Pierre Lepautre, Le Blond, Le Bouteux, and Adam Perelle.
