The Silver Link

To help her sister out of a jam, Sara Good agreed to go up to the Lake District for a few weeks to work with Nicholas Raynor, helping him put together a definitive book on the history of the Raynor family silver collection - the most prestigious such collection in England.

However, Sara had not expected her new employer to be the one man in the world who would remind her of a past she only wanted to forget. Sara's real name was Sara Enderby, whose father was involved in a scandal over 5 years previously, leading to the loss of his fortune and reputation - and eventual death. An aunt took Sara and her sister in and insisted they change their surname to Good, due to the scandal.

Sara had met Nicholas just before the scandal, during a skiing holiday and though she did not know his name, was instantly attracted and thought the feeling was mutual; but Nicholas snubbed her in a humiliating manner.

Finding the identity of this man who seemingly for no reason, snubbed her so callously five years previously and being now employed by him, Sara is shocked to learn that Nicholas' behaviour is due to a valuable, very old silver pendant her father gave her, which she wears constantly - and was wearing 5 years ago, when she first saw Nicholas. He tells her this pendant was the original piece that started the Raynor collection - and apparently, Sara's father stole it from Nicholas' father.

With such an inauspicious beginning, can they sort out all the misunderstandings and misinformation....
